Publix General Information FAQ

Call 1-800-242-1227 for store-related comments. For questions relating to personnel, payroll, benefits, stock, employment, real estate, or accounting, call 1-863-688-1188.

Our Customer Care Department hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. We are closed Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.

Can you tell me a little about the history of Publix?

Publix was founded by George W. Jenkins in 1930 in Winter Haven, Florida. It has grown from a single store into a Fortune 500 company with more than 1,000 stores and is one of the fastest-growing employee-owned companies in the United States.
